Trip Types
On a full day deep sea fishing trip your captain will take you to do whatever style of fishing will produce the most action. Full day of charter fishing allows time for us to get more specific and try to hone in on offshore species that might be on your hit list but ultimately you need to trust in your captains judgment on what to fish for and how to fish for them to give you the best day of deep sea fishing possible. Full days allow enough time to try a couple different styles of fishing to increase your odds at multiple species. The full day also increases your odds at a great catch because the captain has time to change locations, change fishing techniques and go further if the fishing has changed from the day before or on days we have not been able go in awhile and need a little more time to locate the fish. This is the ideal trip for those who want to give themselves the very best odds at catching fish by trusting in the captains judgment to target the best bet style of fishing for that particular day.
We will target species to keep and species to release depending on what is providing the best action. Anything is possible on a full day trip – King mackerel, several species of shark, cobia, dolphin fish, sailfish, barracuda, bonito, black-fin tuna, wahoo, amberjack, almaco jack, african pompano, trigger fish, porgies, sea bass, flounder, red snapper, vermillion snapper, mangrove snapper, mutton snapper, lane snapper, gag grouper, scamp grouper, red grouper, goliath grouper. Remember these are all possible species you might catch but you are leaving it to the captain to put you on what is biting the best.
On a 7 hour deep sea fishing trip your captain will take you to do whatever style of fishing that will produce the most action. A 7 hour day also allows enough time to try a couple different styles of fishing to increase your odds at multiple species. The 3/4 day also increases your odds at a great catch because the captain has time to change locations, change techniques and go further if the fishing has changed from the day before or on days we have not been able go in awhile and need time to locate the fish. This is the ideal trip for those who just want to catch fish and trust in the captains judgment to keep rods bent. Perfect trip for those wanting to hedge their bet over a half day but don’t want to commit to a full day.
We will target species to keep and species to release depending on what is providing the best action. Remember these are all possible species you might catch but you are leaving it to the captain to put you on what is biting the best.
On a half day trip your captain will take you to do whatever style of fishing that will produce the most action while allowing the most time fishing. We will target species to both keep and release. The goal on a half day is to find action quickly. This is one of our most popular trips and they work out fantastically 90% of the time. The 10% of the time they don’t work the full day trip would have made all the difference in the world because it happened to be a day we needed time to go further or the fishing changed overnight and we needed more time to adjust. Most of the time on a half day we will be running to reefs and wrecks about 15 miles offshore but certain times of the year and certain conditions it is better for us to stay very close to Cocoa Beach or tight to the Canaveral Shoals. When you book this fishing trip you are booking it to catch fish on a short day so that doesn’t always mean fishing for keepers. We will target keepers when we can and that is most of the time but sometimes we may need to stay close for red drum, sharks & tarpon or drop to the bottom for red snappers & other bottom species when they are out of season.

Shark fishing Cocoa Beach & Cape Canaveral and the shoals of Port Canaveral is good all year long. We also commonly catch big red drum, bottom rays, goliath grouper and tarpon when targeting sharks. We schedule these trips from 5pm to 9pm and typically the closer we fish to Cocoa Beach or the Canaveral shoals the better we do but on occasion we do go a couple miles further out when shark fishing conditions make the outside shoals a better option. No you do not have to do a shark trip to catch sharks and no sharks do not only bite at night. We actually catch plenty of sharks on our normal day trips and the sharks caught further out are bigger on average. We catch sharks of all sizes ranging from 2ft to 14ft and all types. The way we fish is by using 3 larger rods that soak big baits for sharks and we will have 2 smaller rods going to catch small fish such as croakers and whiting to stay busy while waiting for a shark to bite. We can keep 2 sharks per boat as long as they are small coastal such as black tip sharks, spinner sharks or finetooth sharks to name just a couple or you can choose to take a quick picture and release your shark. We have up to 5 boats that will run these shark trips and they all have restrooms and plenty of lighting. When booking a shark trip you don’t select the boat. We will put you on the boat that fits the schedule the best. All the boats are equal in having the same chance at a successful trip. We will depart at 5pm just as promptly as we can but please bare with us and have some flexibility, depending on how many fish we have to fillet from our day trip determines how quickly we can get turned around.
We schedule the boat – $500 every boat is equal in being able to provide a successful shark trip and they all have a enclosed toilet. Most of the time it will be the Sea Sharker, Sea Sons, Sea Venture or Sea’s The Day.
This is your opportunity to catch a fish of a lifetime. We will set adrift along proven swordfish grounds waiting & watching for that ever so slight change in your rod tip that indicates your chance at a potential giant. Sword fishing is awesome but it is not for the impatient. You are looking at 1 to 4 bites per trip on average and sometimes even no bites. Your hook up ratio depends a lot on your ability to follow instruction and a lot on luck. If you are looking to catch a giant, you have to be willing to put in the time! This is a 11 hour trip. We will leave at 6am and return at 5pm.
Mahi fishing is all about burning fuel in a attempt to find a hard edge, temperature break or floating debris that will be holding large numbers of mahi. You do not have to do a mahi specialty trip to catch mahi. When mahi fishing is good on this side of the Gulf Stream then we are fishing for them on our standard full day deep sea fishing trips anyways. The mahi specialty trip just allows us the fuel budget to have a good chance at finding them any given day of the year because we are not limited by fuel budget. That is why this trip is priced plus fuel. Some days we might find them as close as 20 miles where we might only burn 50 gallons on a trip and sometimes we might be looking as far as 90 miles where we would burn 200 gallons but most the time it is 30 to 60 miles. April, May, June and July being the most consistent months and right after major storms pass August through December can give us some really good opportunities. This is a very specific style of fishing that comes with big risk, big reward mentality. When the Gulf Stream produces nice weed lines or color changes it can be phenomenal fishing. On the flip side when you search great distances and don’t find good conditions for mahi then it can be a very long day trying to happen upon a few day saving fish. On mahi trips you also have a decent chance at catching sailfish, black-fin tuna & wahoo. We will have a full time deck hand on these trips to help keep the trolling spread out and cleared. We definitely recommend this trip for those hardcore mahi enthusiast but for our average customer who would love to catch a few mahi plus good action from a lot of other species we recommend booking our standard 9 hour full day deep sea fishing trip.
These trips are scheduled from 7am to 4pm for those who specifically want to check a sail fish off the list. These trips can be successful year round and can hit its peak randomly as water clarity improves with long stretches of calm sea conditions. The offshore waters of Cocoa Beach are sailfish abundant year round but they are still a trophy fish and not a every trip catch even when specifically targeting them. We will be covering a lot of water by fishing teasers and dredges in order to raise the sailfish. On average we get 2 to 6 shots at sailfish per trip when we dedicate a entire day to this style of fishing. On these trips your overall action from other species usually goes way down but you heavily increase your odds at sailfish. We do often catch mahi, black-fin tuna & wahoo in addition to sailfish on these trips. A good option for this trip is if we go a couple hours without any signs of sailfish action then maybe switch it up because we are usually still in range of other species that we can catch by quickly changing fishing tactics if you choose. We will have a full time deck hand on these trips to help keep the trolling spread out and cleared. We probably overall catch more sailfish each year on our half, 3/4 and full day deep sea fishing trips while we are live bait fishing for all species, so you do not need a sailfish specialty trip to have a good shot at catching sailfish, but for that person who wants to increase their odds at a sail fish and are willing to forsake overall action this would be the right trip for them.
This 12 hour trip is for those who only want to bottom fish areas far from any ports that don’t ever see much pressure from bottom fisherman. Bottom fishing is usually best with 4 or less anglers because current typically limits us to fishing 3 to 4 at a time. We can take up to 6 people and everyone just has to trade out turns. On rare occasions the current allows for 6 anglers at once. This trip is priced plus fuel because we might be as close as 50 miles if we make a test stop and action is good or possibly work our way as far as 120 miles but most the time we are about 80 miles. Groupers, amberjacks and a good variety of snapper species will be our main targets. We also typically find good numbers of trigger fish, big cobias and often score african pompano plus most the time have some kind of pelagic species swim right to the boat that wants to be caught. Bottom fishing is best May – December because groupers are open but all year can be really good for this long range bottom trip. We have plenty of great days of bottom fishing on our standard full day deep sea fishing trip so you do not have to book this trip to have a good bottom catch. This is just bottom fishing at the next level when it all lines up.
This is the ultimate in pelagic fishing. We travel to the other side of the Gulf Stream where fishing pressure is minimum and the opportunities are endless. Our main target on these trips are yellowfin tuna. We will use radar to track birds that feed on the baitfish the tuna push to the surface. Once we locate the tuna we will pull ahead and drop back baits usually resulting in multiple hook ups at the same time. It is also very common to encounter large schools of mahi on flotsam or incredible weed lines. White marlin, blue marlin, black fin tuna, skip jack, wahoo and triple tail are all very common & welcomed bonus catches. We leave out at 5:30am and return around 6:30pm or if we limit out. Ride time is 2 to 3 hours depending on sea conditions. This is the ultimate in deep sea sport fishing out of Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach area. The tuna fishing starts up in April and can be good into September. For those that have a lot of gamble in them there are those who get rewarded during the untraditional months because they are the ones who were willing to roll the dice. We usually do very well on these trips but just like any fishing it is possible to have off days so please make sure when you book this trip that you can take the good with the bad. We understand you are spending a lot of money and we want to catch them every time and we will give it everything we have on every trip but on rare occasion it can be slow going even after we cover 100 plus miles of ocean looking for them. This trip is $5600 and that does include tip. A lot goes into this trip so we have to have the budget to do it 100% the right way.
Our 3, 4 or 5 hour nearshore trips are perfect for young kids, first-time anglers, or anyone who wants to enjoy fishing without spending all day offshore. These trips stay close to shore—fishing in and around Port Canaveral and the nearby jetties—where calm waters and steady action keep everyone engaged. You’ll use smaller rods with light tackle, which means the fishing is hands-on, active, and accessible to all ages. Target species include snapper, sheepshead, croakers, whiting, and pompano—great fighters for their size and perfect for beginners to reel in. There’s always a chance of hooking into something bigger like tarpon, snook, redfish, or black drum, which adds just the right amount of excitement! Our crew is patient, friendly, and loves teaching beginners the ropes, making this trip an ideal introduction to saltwater fishing.
